Jae Sinnett
Jae Sinnett is a 35 plus year professional drummer, composer, music educator and a veteran radio host and producer. With 17 recordings as leader under his name, Jae has composed over 250 compositions and written and arranged over 90% of the music on his recordings. The styles of his compositions vary from straight ahead jazz, to classic soul and R&B, to rock and blues, to modern and old school funk.
He has composed music for five documentaries for local SE Virginia PBS affiliate WHRO TV15 and for Cinebar Productions and has written commercial jingles for local businesses, TV and internet web site promotions.
Jae is now in his 32nd amazing year as senior jazz producer/host on WHRV-FM, 89.5, public radio and media for Eastern Virginia. He hosts the popular “Sinnett in Session” jazz program five days a week, which is heard around the world via streaming and he also hosts and produces “The R&B Chronicles” which is a classic soul radio concept with historical and educational production concepts.
As a drummer Jae has performed and toured with his group and solo, at many of the top jazz festivals and universities throughout the USA, and also in Europe. He has performed with some of the greatest musicians of our time, including Branford and Ellis Marsalis, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Chuck Mangione, Charlie Byrd, Herb Ellis, Arthur Blythe, Carol Sloane, Jon Hendricks, Randy Brecker, Scott Hamilton, Sean Jones, Jimmy Greene, James Moody, Fred Hersch, Mulgrew Miller…to name just a few.
